What better thing to call a new post, the first after a long series of unwritten ones, but scraps. Scraps are what we feed the dogs after we finish the meal. Scraps are what are scraped off the plate into the trash. The bits and pieces. Tidbits. I prefer to think of these scraps as tidbits. Juicy little morsels just waiting to be eaten,

So I feel bad for not writing on this blog as much as I think I should. I haven’t even updated the blog where I leave my book reviews recently. But, to bring some joy to people, I’m working on Honored again! I tried to take a break for Nanowrimo and work on a completely new story, but that actually made me realize how much I love the In Search of Honor World.

Which brings me to another point. I have a giveaway on goodreads for a free paperback copy of my book for anyone interested.

The last scrap of information I wanted to include in this post is that I am looking for Q&A questions for Dishonor. Some of my readers were asking me questions about the book, so I plan to write a Q&A article.

This all being said, I hope everyone has a lovely holiday season, whichever holiday you do, or do not, celebrate.

Have Fun!

So I haven’t posted in awhile, and I apologize for that. I had a couple summer jobs that kept me pretty busy this year. As I like to tell people, I worked in the dark corner cubicle in the back, and when I wasn’t needed to fix people’s computers, I hid in my dark corner banging my head against a metaphorical wall due to the bugs in MS Word.

On a side note, I hate multi-level numbering in word. Really, really, really hate it (if you say really three times that makes it extra true).

When I wasn’t doing my desk job, I was working for an place that teaches kids STEM topics outside of school (and makes them fun to encourage kids to go into a STEM career).

I have had some time to work on “Honored”, but not a lot. I am almost at 20,000 words (YAY!), but I still have a long way to go before “Honored” is finished. I also don’t have a cover for it yet. The cover reveal will happen when it “Honored” is written and in editing.

Thanks for sticking with me, and happy reading!

Debut Novel is Now Published

Dishonor Cover

I am Dishonored. I am the lowest caste in a city of honor. I live in a prison with only the promise of death. I am a mouth to feed in an overpopulated city that no one can leave. Only the wall and the pink bubble over our city protect us from the radiation outside. I live for one purpose.

The city was built by the wealthy to withstand a nuclear blast, and it did, leaving its citizens trapped within its protecting walls. Liv was born as one of the most honored citizens of the city, one of the noble class. When she was eight her father was caught in a plot to kill the king and was beheaded in front of her. She was dishonored and thrown in prison with the criminal scum of an overpopulated city that could care less if the lowest caste died.

Dishonor is the debut novel by author Francesca Huber that was just released on June 29th. It is a post-apocalypse, dystopian, science fiction novel for young adults.

Francesca Huber is a college student majoring in Computer Science. She enjoys networking, programming, game development, and generally working on her computer. In her spare time she rides horses, plays viola, read books, and writes stories. She also spent two years in Army ROTC.

She grew up on a diet of science fiction, fantasy, and horse books imaging herself in other worlds or other times. She would tell herself stories at night to go to sleep, and those stories ended up becoming the books she writes down.

Cover Art!

In preparation for the June 30th release date of my book I am posting a picture of the amazing cover art drawn by my friend and artist Sami Hansen. (Yes, this means I have a hard, solid release date now and no more vague promises.)

Not Published Yet…

So as you can probably tell since it hasn’t hit digital book shelves yet, I have not published Dishonor yet. I am currently having friends read digital copies for me to help with the proof reading process. Also the cover is being reworked by my awesome friend and cover designer Sami. A soon as it has gone through some more editing and revising and the cover is ready, it will be up on digital bookshelves. It should be ready near the end of May, beginning of June. If anyone wants to help in the proof reading feel free to contact me for a copy.
